Job description
Conduct complex research studies of customer groups and product types to develop statistically-based models for forecasting of performance behaviors (i.e. delinquency, charge-off, and prepayment).

Modeling-based duties to include research project design, data collection, analysis, and summary of findings, recommendations and presentation of results. Other responsibilities to include providing support for large and/or complex credit policy, risk and/or marketing projects requiring advanced analytical, quantitative and technical skills, as well as developing and recommending credit-related policies and pricing/profitability actions as appropriate.

Analytic and modeling projects will entail the gathering and analyzing of internal and external economic data to determine impact on business operations, as appropriate.Core requirements for the position include an ability to design and write mainframe and PC SAS programs for statistical analysis of portfolio performance and an ability to use statistical procedures within SAS along with segmentation and optimization tools (e.g. decision tree software) in modeling and strategy development.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree inn mathematics, statistics, finance, economics, related field or equivalent experience; Master's degree preferred
  • Three years proven statistical analysis andd/or portfolio analytic experience, or equivalent
  • Knowledge and understanding of financial services preferred
  • Strong organizational, analytical, prooblem-solving, project management and verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with personnal computers as well as pertinent mainframe systems and software packages
  • Strong programming skills to include proven knowledge of SAS
