Academic/Research Positions

The Institute for Computing and Information Sciences (ICIS) at the Faculty of Science of the Radboud University in Nijmegen, The Netherlands, is looking for candidates with a master in computer science, mathematics, bioinformatics, or a related discipline, for a fully funded four-year PhD position in the research topic of machine learning techniques for the analysis of metagenomics data.

Abstract: The rapidly emerging field of metagenomics seeks to examine the genomic content of communities of organisms to understand their roles and interactions in an ecosystem. The goal of this project is to develop machine learning techniques for the analysis of metagenomics data, in particular to tackle the following main research problems: efficient and correct genome assembly, protein function prediction with metagenomics data.
