THE UNIVERSITY OF DENVER seeks a visionary and innovative leader to serve as the Chair of the Department of Statistics and Operations Technology at the Daniels College of Business (www.daniels.du.edu). The Chair is responsible for providing effective leadership, direction, and support to lead the department and its newly created MS in Data Mining degree into a new era of growth and opportunity.

Individuals applying for this position must qualify for the rank of Associate or Full Professor and will report directly to the Dean of the college. The Chair will manage internal departmental operations; determine and use strategies to maximize student learning and satisfaction; strengthen the student learning experience; secure external support and funding necessary for the department to achieve excellence; and monitor departmental course content, syllabi, and learning outcomes to assure currency and relevance

The successful candidate must have a Ph D in Statistics or a related area; have a proven record of teaching and an established record of research; possess the capability and enthusiasm to teach in and help develop the newly created Master of Science in Data Mining degree; possess leadership skills necessary to manage a multi-disciplinary faculty and promote recognition of the department and its faculty; and possess strong communication skills, especially relating to students and alumni.
