GROUP: MIS ACQUISITIONS

DESCRIPTION

In this position, the ideal candidate will be managing Core and Partnership processes developed through Providian's prospect database. The candidate will be the in-house production statistician responsible for:

• Profile potential new partners.
• Implement and managing the existing predictive models on Providian's prospect database.
• Perform analysis to support new marketing and credit initiatives and improve effectiveness of the direct mail acquisition channel.
• Implement new criteria based on requirements from marketing, credit and finance.
• Provide support for various ad hoc analytic requests.
• Manage the day-to-day production of monthly rollout processes.
• Develop and support the suite of targeting, optimization, and planning tools.
• Perform data analysis on source systems and write specifications for data movement from source systems to the data warehouse.
• Work with internal customers to understand business initiatives and document business requirements for Prospect Database development.
• Develop and manage various datamarts and datasets for the production staff.
• Oversee development and audit of all processes.

The qualified candidate will have 4+ years of credit card or related financial services experience, and a BS/MS in math, statistics, operations research, computer science or a related field. Strong computer skills with extensive programming experience in SQL and SAS are necessary. Familiarity with databases (specifically Oracle) and MS Office are a must. The candidate will have a background in statistical analysis and procedures. As a marketing analyst III, the candidate must have excellent analytic, problem solving, written communication, and presentation skills. The candidate must be flexible and able to multitask in an extremely dynamic environment. Must be independent and interested in taking on increasing levels of responsibility.
