Circuit City Stores, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Senior Statistician to join our Analytics team in our Marketing Department. This person will be responsible for the design and development of statistical marketing models for Marketing to increase campaign and program effectiveness and return on investment.

Job Duties include:

  • Statistical model design and development (35%)
  • Strategic development - work with key Management, Consulting partners and Analysts to understand and apply statistical strategies to achieve defined Marketing goals. (25%)
  • Consult, advise and teach others on statistical modeling and analysis (internal and external relationships) (20%)
  • Collaborate with MIS to influence and lead data structure, capture and design decisions. (10%)
  • Campaign analysis and Experimental Design for designing campaigns (10%)

Candidate Requirements
Skills:
  • SAS programming (Preferred)
  • SQL (Preferred)
  • Relational database experience (5+ years) (Preferred)
  • GIS or UNIX (Preferred)
  • Expert in the design and development of analysis ()
Experience/Competencies:
  • 5+ years of Direct Marketing Analytics (Preferred)
  • 3+ years of retail experience (Preferred)
  • Interpersonal/Teaching skills to coach and mentor others ()
Education:
  • Masters or PHD in Statistics is strongly preferred (Preferred)
Department Description
Circuit City's Marketing Department is responsible for inviting our customers into our stores. Our marketing reaches customers through print, radio and TV, the Internet, direct mail, and special events. To ensure that we know what is on our customers' minds, focus groups and consumer surveys are done before any advertising campaign gets underway. With customer insight in hand, our Marketing Department works closely with our buyers to create product promotions that speak to our customer's needs. Advertising designed to promote these offers is produced in-house by Circuit City's staff of creative and production experts.

Marketing to our customers doesn't end when they walk into our stores. The marketing department also ensures that our customers experience a store where products are easy to find and signage leads the way. Marketing ensures that store associates are up-to-date on all of our promotions and business priorities through effective associate communications.
