London, UK, January 16th 2003 - InforSense Ltd., the leading provider of Open Discovery Workflow informatics platforms, today announced that AstraZeneca has significantly broadened their commitment to InforSense technology. The new agreement creates a powerful next-generation knowledge discovery environment, which will be based at AstraZeneca R&D Molndal, Sweden, and accessed by researchers at several AstraZeneca sites, starting with AstraZeneca R&D Sodertalje, Sweden, and AstraZeneca R&D Boston, Massachusetts, USA.

Since 2001, InforSense workflows have been used at AstraZeneca to integrate, process and exploit bioinformatics data within various research areas, including cardiovascular/gastrointestinal and CNS/pain control. The new platform will enable more scientists at AstraZeneca to utilize the Open Discovery Workflows for streamlining research informatics, extending the potential applications further into decision analytics, ADME-Tox and literature analysis/text mining.
