BriefsLeadScope provides software for FDALeadScope(R) Inc. today announced that it is collaborating with the FDA under a Material Transfer Agreement (MTA). The agreement allows the FDA to use LeadScope Enterprise(TM) (both server and desktop version) for data mining and decision support. The agreement is with the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER) and the Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (CFSAN). LeadScope Enterprise is chemically intelligent decision-support software that rapidly identifies correlations between chemical structural features and any biological end-point, such as toxicity. It has been used extensively to identify toxic structural alerts. Proprietary toxicity data can be supplemented with data from the LeadScope ToxScope(TM) database, currently containing approximately 150,000 compounds with toxicity information. These toxic alerts can then be used with LeadScope Enterprise to share this knowledge throughout an organization, helping scientists avoid potential toxic compounds earlier in the drug development process.
