This international effort will be celebrated in nearly 100 countries! Among other activities, SAS will host World Statistics Day activities at SAS Analytics Facebook page, including 24 brief posts -- one for each hour of World Statistics Day -- that will highlight interesting, fun and informative stories about statistics.

Here is UNSD Honouring Statisticians Globally Video

If you are an analyst / data miner, you are also a statistician so congratulations to all KDnuggets readers!

Are data miners a subset of statisticians, a superset, or neither? Clearly data mining / analytics is built upon a foundation of statistics, but in my mind data mining is more heuristic / knowledge driven and less theory-driven than statistics.
