Subject: Menlo Park, CA: Research Analyst at Allstate Research and Planning Center
Research Center of major insurance/financial services company is
looking for a Research Analyst to analyze internal & external data,
create predictive models & provide actionable insights for insurance
products and processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform Exploratory data analysis
- Identify and investigate new research methods and data sources
- Create and validate predictive models
- Communicate project progress to colleagues and management
- Work within teams to integrate findings and models into company operations
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Master's degree in Mathematics, Statistics or related field preferred. Bachelors with equivalent experience also acceptable.
- Minimum 2+ yrs work experience in a business environment.
- Demonstrated capability in analyzing data
- Experience with multivariate regression, clustering or other data mining techniques such as decision trees
- Ability to learn quickly and to apply new tools and techniques
- Strong listening and communications skills � highly collaborative work style yet must demonstrate ability to work independently
- Insurance industry experience a plus
- Proficiency in programming and data management in a UNIX and/or mainframe environment beneficial
- Proficiency in SAS preferred
- Willingness to acquire knowledge of company databases and to keep current with new technologies.
