Subject: SAS' 7th Annual Data Mining Technology Conference Returns to Las Vegas, October 18-19

For the seventh year in a row, world-renowned data mining experts will share their knowledge at M2004 (www.sas.com/m2004), SAS' annual data mining technology conference. Held at the Rio Hotel in Las Vegas, October 18 and 19, M2004 will feature four keynote addresses and more than 24 session talks in eight tracks.

Conference keynotes will be delivered by:

  • William DuMouchel, Technology Consultant, Statistics Research, AT&T
  • Trevor Hastie, professor of statistics and biostatistics, Stanford University
  • Bill Kahn, Chief Scoring Officer, Capital One Financial
  • Andreas Weigend, formerly Chief Scientist, Amazon.com
In addition to the four keynote addresses, the conference offers participants eight tracks available in two afternoon sessions. Session topics on the agenda include: * Bioinformatics * Business Applications * Data Mining in Data Base Marketing * Data Mining in Education * Emerging Technologies in Data Mining * Financial Services * New Ideas in Data Mining * Variable Selections

Immediately following the conference, M2004 will offer training courses that highlight the latest data mining technology Participants will be able to choose one of five courses, including Predictive Modeling Using SAS(r) Enterprise Miner 5 for SAS(r)9, Mining Textual Data Using SAS(r) Text Miner for SAS(r) 9, Advanced Predictive Modeling Using SAS(r) Enterprise Miner 5 for SAS(r)9, Extending SAS(r) Enterprise Miner for SAS(r)9, and Data Mining Techniques.
