Provalis Research is pleased to announce that QDA Miner (formely known as CodeMiner) has now been officially released.

QDA Miner is an easy-to-use qualitative data analysis software package for coding textual data, annotating, retrieving and reviewing coded data and documents. The program can manage complex projects involving large numbers of documents combined with numerical and categorical information. QDA Miner also provides a wide range of exploratory tools to identify patterns in coding and relationships between assigned codes and other numerical or categorical properties (coding sequence analysis, codes co-occurrence analysis, clustering, 2D and 3D multidimensional scaling plots, proximity plots, correspondence analysis, heatmaps, etc.). Documents are stored in Rich-Text Format and support font and paragraph formatting, graphics and tables. Documents may be edited at any time without affecting existing coding.

QDA Miner can import and export documents, data and results in numerous file formats (MS Word, WordPerfect, RTF, HTML, MS Access, Excel, Paradox, dBase, etc.). It also provides unique integration with advanced text mining (WordStat) and statistical analysis (Simstat) tools allowing an easy combination and integration of qualitative and quantitative methods. When used in conjunction with WordStat, QDA Miner may be used to restrict text mining to selected text segments or perform comparative analysis of text assigned to different segments.

A new maintenance release of WordStat has also been released. This version offers compatibility with QDA Miner files as well as Rich Text documents stored in Simstat data files. Existing users of WordStat 4.0 can upgrade for free to this latest version by downloading the trial version and by installing this version over the existing one or by download the special upgrade program at:
