The John Deere Commercial & Consumer Equipment Division has an opening for a Customer Data Analyst.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Interact with marketing personnel to understand business objectives, perform statistical and other data analysis, interpret analysis results, and present actionable marketing recommendations verbally and through notes, reports, and documents to help direct consumer marketing strategies and campaigns.
  • Project management of engagements with marketing clients.
  • Intake, and interactive refinement of scope and impact, of requests for information and knowledge.
  • Query, manipulate, and examine customer and related data, and help others to do the same, using Business Objects, Access, and Excel.
  • Explore and analyze customer and related data using SAS Enterprise Miner.
  • Create processes for software tool utilization.
  • Explore, expand and improve the capabilities of tools and processes.
  • Resident expert for SAS Enterprise Miner - train, support, and enable selected marketing personnel in tool use.
  • Help manage data, hardware, and software support issues and problems.
The successful candidate for the Customer Data Analyst position will be expected to get up to speed quickly on all background information and activities to-date, as well as on the SAS Enterprise Miner implementation project and the Customer Information Clearinghouse implementation project, and rapidly become an active and contributing participant on these projects. The Customer Data Analyst will learn deeply about the current data situation and future data plans within the Customer Knowledge Center and will learn about the functionality and administration of SAS Enterprise Miner and Business Objects, including detailed basic and advanced training on these tools.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • M.S. or Ph.D. in Statistics, Mathematics, Quantitative Analysis, Decision Sciences, or related field.
  • Business experience and proficiency in exploring and analyzing customer and related data for consumer marketing purposes, interpreting results, and articulating marketing recommendations based on analysis results (2+ years).
  • Business experience and proficiency in using statistical and other analysis methods such as lifetime value, profiling, sampling, regression, decision trees, neural networks, predictive modeling, segmentation, and clustering (2+ years).
  • Business experience and proficiency with SAS Enterprise Miner or similar tool (2+ years).
  • Business experience and proficiency with Business Objects or similar tool (2+ years).
  • Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet Explorer.
  • Approximately 10% travel.

  • Documentation skills & experience.
  • Experience and proficiency manipulating data with Microsoft Access.
  • Experience and proficiency manipulating data with Microsoft Excel.
