Job Description: Lead grant funded Research & Development efforts in unstructured information management, image and video processing, statistical pattern recognition, bioinformatics, and intelligent agents. Provide project management and technical expertise for ongoing projects. Maintain project plans, budgets, and schedules. Interact with customers to identify new business opportunities and lead technical proposal generation efforts. Work with other department managers to set the technical direction for the department.

Requirements: Ph.D. in C.S., Engineering., Mathematics, Physics or related mathematical field. Minimum five years experience in algorithm and mathematical software development in a research and development environment. Technical expertise in one or more of the following: information retrieval, image and video processing, statistical pattern recognition, bioinformatics, intelligent agents. Two years project leadership experience. Strong technical leadership and management skills and aptitude. Excellent written and oral communications skills.

Preferred Qualifications: Ph.D. in C.S., Electrical/Computer Engineering or Operations Research. Substantial technical breadth. Five years experience and proven record of achievement leading technology development efforts in a commercial environment. Broad technical expertise and strong publication record in one or more of the following: information retrieval, image and video processing, statistical pattern recognition, bioinformatics, intelligent agents. A network of contacts within research funding agencies. Strong ability to lead and manage projects and transform them into prototype products.
