I am currently looking for a hands-on technology leader for a new start-up company that creates innovative statistical process control and data mining based solutions in the industrial space.

Initial funding comes from a federal grant and will last for another year. The company already has a client for going after a second grant.

The company is looking for a key member of a small hands-on development team (in Java), who will also serve as the technical visionary. A PhD is preferred but not necessary.

The company is located in W. Virginia. Relocation is preferred but not required -- telecommuting is an option. This position requires part-time travel to a client site in W. Virginia. The position could lead to a chief technologist role and stock incentives in the creation of a new product.

Salary Range: $80-120,000, depending on the experience. The cost of living in W. Virginia area is much less than in many other areas.

Desired Skill set:

• Broad knowledge of artificial intelligence including neural networks, intelligent data mining, multi-agent system design, machine learning, and mathematical modeling system design and architectures
• Real-time optimization systems including advanced planning and scheduling strategies
• Ability to work in a relational database environment
• Java and object oriented programming
• Familiarity with industrial environments and control systems preferred
• 3+ years of experience
• Experience with writing grants helpful
