Recent developments in the world of electronic data interchange (EDI) have provided Synergy with powerful new sources of de-identified patient level healthcare claims. Synergy uses the EDI data to provide clients with product development and marketing information derived from the largest, most current patient-centric information available in the world today.

We are looking for an outstanding, energetic individual to join our Quality Assurance (QA) and Reporting team as QA Statistician. This position reports directly the Vice President, Quality Assurance and Reporting.

Purpose of Position:

To assist the Quality Assurance team in maintaining, developing and implementing QA processes and procedures that monitor the consistency of the Synergy data warehouse. To assist Account Management with the maintenance of existing Synergy products and provide necessary statistical support in the development of new products.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor key data metrics for statistically significant trends.
• Develop project-specific statistical models and methods of analysis that are appropriate for a variety of marketing circumstances such as market sizing, brand management and media spend optimization.
• Consult with QA team and the broader Quintiles statistical team on the design and execution of special studies related to disease incidence and epidemiology.

Education/Skill Level/Experience:

• The position requires 2+ years of experience and a Masters degree in statistics, mathematics, operations research or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL and relational databases together with SAS or any standard statistical software preferred.
• Applicant should demonstrate an interest in problem solving, data mining and multivariate statistical techniques.
• Knowledge of healthcare industry, health care data and the associated coding schemes is desirable but not required.
• Must be analytical, intellectually curious and attentive to detail.
• Must have effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Position does not include direct supervision of personnel.
