Subject: Canada, Kingston: Research Programmer/Data mining at Queen's University
A position is immediately available as a research programmer for an
interdisciplinary project in artificial intelligence and computational
biology. The primary responsibility of the job candidate will be to develop
and apply data mining tools to knowledge discovery for crystal growth.

The candidate should preferably have a postgraduate degree in computer
science specializing in artificial intelligence and/or data mining.
Knowledge of molecular biology is not necessary.

The project is being carried out in collaboration with researchers at the
University of Toronto and the Hauptman-Woodward Medical Institute in
Buffalo so some travel may be required.

The salary is dependent on education and experience. Initially the contract
will be for one year, with the possibility of multi-year renewals.

This position offers the opportunity to work in an active and exciting
research program, learn more about the rapidly expanding field of
computational biology, implement parallel data-mining tools, and gain
experience with IBM RS/6000 SP2.
